Health Minister contracting Corona Virus (COVID-19): Normal – Psychologist

Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Emmanuel Assiampong, has allayed the fears of Ghanaians concerning the Health Minister and MP for Dormaa Central, Hon. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu who is currently battling the deadly Coronavirus disease and further stated that this should not be considered as an indictment on the government in fighting the novel virus which is proving to be a canny enemy.
According to the Expert, claims that the government is losing the COVID-19 fight because the Health Minister has contracted the virus is misleading.
“It is normal for someone like the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu to contract Conoravirus because of his work. He is constantly meeting all kinds of people in the line of duty “, Dr. Emmanuel Assiampong asserted when he spoke on Manhyia-based Opemsuo FM’s morning show hosted by George Opoku Mensah.
Some Ghanaians took to social media accusing the government of doing little to protect the people including its own Health Minister from the virus despite all the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo confirmed the health status of the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, who tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
According to him, the hardworking Health Minister contracted the virus in the line of duty.
“Let us also wish our hardworking Minister for Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu, MP for Dormaa Central, a speedy recovery from the virus, which he contracted in the line of duty, and is in a stable condition,” His Excellency said in his 11th televised address to the nation.
