GTVET Probes Alleged Financial Mismanagement at Bechem Technical Institute

The Ghana TVET Service (GTVETS) says an investigation is underway to ascertain the veracity of claims of financial mismanagement, abuse of office, discrepancies in enrolment records and certain administrative decisions at Bechem Technical Institute.

The allegations by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and some staff members of the school are being treated with the seriousness they deserve in line with established public service procedural principles of natural justice and good governance, it said in a statement.

“The Ghana TVET Service has commenced investigations into the matter and is committed to ensuring that due process is followed, all parties are given a fair hearing, and conclusions are readied strictly based on verified evidence.”

It assured stakeholders of the necessary administrative and disciplinary actions once investigations establish misconduct.

Meanwhile, it noted that the appropriate steps will be taken to protect the integrity of the institution and its leadership when cleared by the probe.

It therefore appealed to the media and the public to exercise restraint and allow the appropriate processes to run their full course.

“The Service further wishes to reassure learners. parents, staff, and the wider community that academic activities and institutional operations at Bechem Technical Institute will continue without disruption, while the review process is underway.”

“The Service remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the credibility of Ghana’s TVET system and ensuring that all institutions operate in an environment of trust. accountability, and excellence.“
