GRIDCo Justifies Power Outage in Northern Regions
The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has justified the disruption of power supply to parts of the country in the early hours of Wednesday.
In a statement, it said the power disruption was caused by a trip in a transformer at the Kintampo substation.
The development affected all four regions in the Northern part of the country.
“Prior to this, at 05:29am, a 330/161kV auto transformer at the Kintampo substation tripped causing an outage to the Anwomaso-Kumasi Transmission Line resulting in the system disturbance,” it said as it apologized for the inconvenience.
Power was restored at 07:35am, it said in a statement.
