GRA Denies Auctioning vehicles
The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has denied any planned auction of vehicles at one of the port sites in Accra.
In a statement announcing the purported auction on December 3, it was announced that the auction would take place on December 28 and urged interested persons to contact the customs customer service.
However, the GRA has discredited the said release saying it is fake.
“GRA wishes to inform the general public that the notice circulating in the public domain is FAKE.”
It noted that the release bears the signature of the former GRA boss Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah but bears the name of the current leader.
“The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has sighted a fake media release on a vehicle auction dated December 3, 2024, purported to be coming from the Commissioner-General of the GRA.
“The fake media release bears the signature of the former Commissioner-General, Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah but has the name of the current Commissioner-General, Madam Julie Essiam.”
It therefore urged the public to disregard it.
