Govt to Use ADB Grant for Feasibility Studies on Proposed 37 Military Hospital Interchange, Other Projects

The government of Ghana plans to use a part of a US$12.83 million grant from the African Development Bank (ADB) for a feasibility study on another interchange in the capital.
The grant agreement was signed on January 29, 2026, by the Minister of Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson and Country Manager of ADB, Eyerusalem Fasika.
In a statement, the finance minister said the amount will support feasibility studies for key projects under the Big Push programme, among which is a proposed interchange at the 37 Military Hospital.
Part of it will also be for market redevelopment, including the Agbogbloshie Market, Techiman Market, Sekondi Market and Mankessim Market.
The Minister also cited the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones in the Afram Plains, Nsawam, and Builsa.
“For all these projects, the funding will support detailed feasibility studies, including full designs, costings, and environmental and social impact assessments, to ensure they are ready for construction.”
He thus expressed gratitude to the financial institution for its strong partnership and continued support.
“Our aim is to complete these studies early enough to allow construction to begin soon.”
