GIPC Gets Nod to Host Forum to Explore Investment Potentials in Ashanti Region

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) has received the blessings of the Manhyia Palace to host the Ashanti Investment Forum on Wednesday.
The event will explore unique investment prospects and encourage partnerships that support regional economic growth.
It will take place on March 11, 2026, at the Golden Bean Hotel.
According to Mr Simon Madjie, the Chief Executive Officer, these investment potentials will be promoted to Ghanaian and foreign businessmen who are interested in investing in the region.
“Every region has something unique we can promote for investment. We can’t speak of Ghana without acknowledging the contribution of the Ashanti Region. We are in the heart of Ghana, the cultural capital,” he told Nana Dwamena Akenten II, Offinsohene, who received the delegation from the GIPC on behalf of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene.
“We have a programme called Investment Opportunity Mapping. With this, we are mapping out investment opportunities in each region to help investors… It’s time to make sure that the Ashanti Spirit is invoked for industrial development in the Ashanti Region.”
For his part, Board Chairman Akwasi Oppong-Fosu said this initiative is aimed at making the region investment-ready.
“We want each region to be prepared for investment. We have local content that must be harnessed; otherwise, when the investors come, they will take 100% profit. This initiative is to help us put the requisite measures in place. The majority of the work depends on Nananom when it comes to land acquisition matters. That is why we are forging an alliance with Nananom.”
In his remarks, the Paramount Chief of Offinso Traditional Area welcomed the initiative, offering his full support.
He encouraged collaboration with the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) as he believed that the initiative aligns with the Council’s Ashanti Expo.
“The Ashanti Coordinating Council has organised an event called the Ashanti Expo to provide exposure for small-scale businesses. The expo is set to launch in April. Since your initiatives align with this effort, I encourage you to work with the ARCC to coordinate these initiatives to support small-scale businesses. The ARCC plans to hold the fair for two weeks, operating 24 hours a day, to support and assist our local entrepreneurs.”
