Ghanaian Citizenship Application by Historical Diasporans Put on Hold
Ghana has announced a temporary suspension of citizenship application for Historical Diasporans.
This measure is to make way for an overhaul of the entire process, the Ministry of the Interior and the Diaspora Affairs Office of the President (DAOOP) said in a joint statement.
“This pause is part of a joint institutional effort to further streamline and enhance the overall experience, ensuring that the process becomes even more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly for our brothers and sisters across the diaspora.”
The Ministry and Office, in their statement, affirmed their commitment to welcoming members of the global African family home, saying they were working collaboratively to introduce refinements that will make future applications smoother and more seamless.
“We appreciate the continued interest, enthusiasm, and cooperation of all prospective applicants, and we look forward to resuming the process shortly.”
