Ghana To Lock Horns With Burkina Faso In WAFU B U-20 In Semis
The Black Princesses will have to book a ticket for the finals of the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU-B) U-20 Girls tournament when they face off with Burkina Faso on Wednesday.
Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Benin and Ghana are through to the semi-final stage of the competition hosted by Ghana at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Ghana will face second-placed Burkina Faso who lost by 3:0 to Nigeria over the weekend. Their loss to Nigeria put the latter atop Group B.
Meanwhile, Ghana sits atop Group A with six points after going unbeaten in their two games against Benin and Cote D’Ivoire.
Ghana thrashed Cote D’Ivoire 3-1 on Saturday thanks to a brace from Mafia Nyame and a goal from Mary Amponsah. The Ivorians managed one goal through Deperou Digbeu.
The game between Ghana and Burkina Faso will be held at 3 pm on May 31.
Meanwhile, Nigeria will face Benin on the same day.
The tournament organised for member states in the sub-region began on May 20 and is expected to end on June 3, 2023.
