Ghana to Face Germany in Pre-World Cup Friendly

Germany will play Ghana in an international friendly on Monday, March 30, 2026, in Stuttgart.
The friendly match forms part of preparations for both countries in the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America.
Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann said, “We are very much looking forward to the clash with Otto’s team. Their strong transition play can give us a taste of what to expect in the World Cup group match against the Ivory Coast.”
The Hamburg-born Black Stars Coach and former Bundesliga professional, Otto Addo, is optimistic about the game.
“This is an amazing opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world. Germany is a good side, and we can’t wait to face them in Stuttgart.”
Ghana qualified convincingly as group winners for the 2026 World Cup and will compete in Group L against England, Croatia, and Panama.
The four-time African champions have faced Germany three times before. In their first friendly in Bochum in 1993, Germany won 6–1.
Two further encounters came at World Cups: in 2010 in South Africa, Germany prevailed 1–0 in the group stage, while their second group-stage meeting at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil ended in a 2–2 draw.
The match is scheduled for an 8:45 pm kickoff on Monday, March 30, 2026.
