Ghana Set For Japan, South Korea Showdown In November

Ghana will play two pre-World Cup games in November this year against South Korea and Japan in a preparatory Asian tour.
It will be an opportunity for Coach Otto Addo’s side to be assessed for the necessary adjustments ahead of the country’s fifth FIFA World Cup to be hosted in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America.
The first game will be against Japan at Toyota Stadium in Aichi on Friday, November 14, 2025.
It will be a one-off game dubbed the 2025 Kirin Challenge Cup.
Meanwhile, the second game is set for Tuesday, November 18, 2025, against South Korea
According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), in a statement, the matches form part of a strategic plan to give the team top-level opposition as they prepare for the tournament in June next year.
The Black Stars are hoping to make a strong impression at the World Cup after securing qualification on Sunday, following a 1-0 win over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Japan booked their spot in the World Cup in March with a 2-0 win over Bahrain, while South Korea secured their spot by defeating Iraq 2-0 on June 5, 2025, marking their 11th consecutive appearance in the tournament.
