The Ghana Post Company Limited has received the green light to carry out a second and third launch of the Otumfuo Commemorative Stamps in the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (USA).
The Management of the company led by Mr George Afedzi Hayford, Board Chairman, during a courtesy visit to the Manhyia Palace on Friday, June 7, 2024, made the humble request to the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, stating that these jurisdictions are home to numerous Asante expats who would want the stamps as collector’s items .
He also indicated that high demand for the stamps also made the need imperative.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Managing Director, Mr Bice Osei Kuffour said, “We plan to launch the stamps in the UK and the US, and we humbly request your support. We also seek additional Palace representatives to participate in these events.”

The amount is part of proceeds from the sale of the stamps, Mr Osei Kuffour explained to the King.
In addition to that some of the stamps were presented to His Majesty, the historic crypto stamps, the Royal Stamp frame and the postal stamps.
A miniature of the most demanded stamp was also presented to the Palace.
Mr Osei Kuffour further requested the signature of His Majesty on certificates they intend to award to all sponsors of the stamp initiative.
As part of their mission, the team thanked Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for accepting their humble request for the Philatelic Stamps in his honour.
“The interesting part is that the event was hosted at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall, the first event in the newly constructed multipurpose facility. This is so honouring and we thank you for that.”
Otumfuo through Mamponghemaa Nana Difie Agyakoma II- a member of the Otumfuo Silver Jubilee Planning Committee who liaised with the Company on the launch of the stamps- expressed appreciation to the Management and Board for the decision to immortalize the King with the stamps.
