Ghana and Singapore Agree to Continue Visa Waiver

Ghana and Singapore will continue to uphold the visa waiver agreement signed some years ago.

This was announced by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa on Monday after a meeting with the High Commissioner of Singapore to Ghana, His Excellency Hawazi Daipi.

“It’s refreshing that Ghana and Singapore will continue to maintain our Visa Waiver Agreement,” he said in a Facebook post as he characterized the meeting as a great honour.

He also reported that the two countries had agreed to deepen cooperation, particularly in trade, skills education and IT.

Under the waiver, citizens from both countries do not need a tourist visa when visiting each other.

Applicants are required to be present when applying for the Singapore Visa.

This tourist visa typically allows a short-term stay.

The Singapore tourist visa remains valid for 1 month. A total of 3 documents are required to apply for the Singapore Visa for free.

The agreement came into force in 2018.
