GFA Postpones Vipers FC Second Match
The Ghana Football Association has indefinitely postponed the second match of Venomous Vipers FC in the 2023/2024 Division One League after earlier announcing suspension of their first match.
This follows the team’s accident on Saturday night while en route to Ejisu to face King Faisal FC for their season opener.
The postponement was communicated on the FA’s website.
“Matchday 1 and 2 games have been postponed as the team recovers from the accident.”
It is reported that ten players of the club as well as officials got injured in the accident and remain at a medical facility where they are receiving medical attention.
A delegation from the FA visited the injured at the hospital to convey the best wishes to the Club. They are said to have also made a contribution to support the club in the payment of medical bills.
The Vipers were bid to take their first match of the season on Sunday, October 8 and their second against PAC Academy.
In an earlier statement, the GFA said the welfare of the players and officials were its priorities.
“At this moment, the welfare of the players and officials of the team is our primary concern, and the football family wishes them a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with the club at this moment.”
