German Coach Flick Takes Barca Job
German Football Manager, Hans-Dieter “Hansi” Flick has agreed to manage FC Barcelona in the next two years following the departure of Xavi Hernández.
The coach with almost three decades of experience is expected to end his spell with the La Liga club on June 30, 2026.
The former sporting director at the German Football Federation (DFB) is trusted as the right man for the job.
“By bringing Hansi Flick as coach, FC Barcelona have chosen a man well known for his teams’ high pressing, intense and daring style of play which has brought him great success at club level and international level, winning pretty much all there is to win in the world of football,” Barca said in a press statement on Wednesday.
It comes few days after the Catalans formally parted ways with Xavi whose contract was originally set to expire in 2025.
