GAF Confirms Arrest of Soldiers, Says They Won’t Be Shielded

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has confirmed the arrest of two soldiers for allegedly attempting to rob a mining company in the Western region.

The incident transpired on Sunday, 28 September 2025.

In a statement, he said, “The Ghana Armed Forces is collaborating with the Ghana Police Service to establish allegations of extortion incident involving two soldiers and some civilian accomplices at LongShine Mining Company Limited in Prestea-Obouhu.”

It assured that personnel found culpable will face the law as any citizen of Ghana.

“The Ghana Armed Forces wishes to assure the general public that it will not shield its personnel involved in criminal activities.”
