G/AR: Lifeless Body Retrieved from Drain

The lifeless body of a man in his 20s has been retrieved from a drain at Asylum Down in the Greater Accra Region.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received a report of the incident around 6 am on April 8, 2026, and deployed a rescue team to the scene.
“A rescue crew from the Circle Fire Station was promptly dispatched at 06:19 hours to a drainage channel feeding the Odaw River, opposite Iran Clinic at Asylum Down.”
The team retrieved the body and handed it over to the police for investigation.
“The rescue crew, led by ADO I Richard Helegbe, arrived at 06:25 hours and successfully retrieved the lifeless body of an unidentified male believed to be in his late 20s from the drain.
