Fuel Tanker’s Mate Arrested for Machete Assault on a Man

The police have in their grips a fuel tanker’s mate who used a machete to physically assault another man in a viral video.

In the said video, Dawuda Sumaila was captured flogging his prey who had been tied to the truck with the machete.

The incident happened on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Anyinam in the Eastern Region.

He was arrested through an intelligence-led operation, on April 9, 2025, a statement by the police said on Thursday.

“The suspect, Dawuda Sumaila who is a tanker driver’s mate is currently in police custody assisting investigations into the incident.”
