There will be a free health screening at the Manhyia Palace this Sunday, August 18, 2024, under the banner ‘Otumfuo Silver Jubilee Celebration Fair’.
The medical screening is being organized by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation (OOTIIF) with the support of International Healthcare Volunteers (USA), Ghana Health Service, Kumasi Metro Assembly (KMA) and the OKB Hope Foundation.
It forms part of auxiliary activities in recognition of the 25th Anniversary of the 16th Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, reflecting his keen interest in the well-being of his people and Ghanaians.
Beyond the health screenings, the event will offer free consultations and educational resources to beneficiaries within Asanteman and all parts of the country.
Beneficiaries will be provided General Health Education and Counselling before they undergo Hypertension and Diabetes screening, Blood cholesterol (Total, HDL, LDL and Triglycerides), Malaria test, Hemoglobin, Eye Screening, and Dental.
At the Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on Thursday, August 15, 2024, Otumfuo Kyeame Kantankrankyi urged Nananom and all courtiers to participate in the exercise which will be held at the forecourt of the Manhyia Palace.
“Asantehene wants it announced to you that there will be a health screening here on Sunday where you will be screened for various diseases. Each one must be screened because Otumfuo seeks your well-being and want you to be healthy in order to render your services to him. Make it a point to show up.”
