Francis Abu Undergoes ‘Successful’ Surgery after Horrific Injury

Toulouse midfielder Abu Francis has undergone a successful surgery, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed.

He is said to have suffered a fracture of two bones in a horrific injury during Black Stars’ game against Japan last week.

In a statement, the GFA said the acute phase of his rehabilitation had commenced.

“The Ghana Football Association, the management team of the Black Stars, and the technical team have agreed to let one physiotherapist stay with the player to help him with his intensive physiotherapy sessions during this acute phase of his rehabilitation.”

It added that a senior member of the technical team will accompany him to his home base in France after he is discharged from the Toyota Memorial Hospital, where the surgery took place.

It added, “The Ghana Football Association is grateful to everyone who supported us in this journey.

“We are particularly grateful to the Black Stars management and the technical team for their support during these last few days and will continue to count on their support during the rehabilitation process in our quest to ensure that the player returns to full fitness.”
