Four Confirmed Dead In Nsawam Accident

Four (4) people have been confirmed dead following a car accident in Nsawam in the Eastern region.

According to DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the Eastern Regional Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, the accident happened at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022.

He said the suspect driver in charge of a Mercedes Benz truck with registration number GT 7176 N was transporting an undefined amount of cement from Accra to Nsawam when the truck’s brakes allegedly failed at a section of road near Prince Boateng Memorial School.

The truck collided with many vehicles ahead of him, as well as pedestrians and food vendors, instantly killing four (4) female adults.

The bodies were taken from the scene and deposited in the mortuary of the Nsawam Government Hospital for preservation, identification, and autopsy.

The accident vehicles were being taken away from the area for free flow of traffic, according to DSP Ebenezer Tetteh.

Attempts are being made to enlist the help of the suspect driver in the inquiry.
