Former President J. J. Rawlings Joins His Ancestors
Former President Jerry John Rawlings has passed on today 12th November, 2020
According to a release signed by his daughter Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, he died after a short illness on Thursday morning.
” It is with deep sadness that the family of His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings (Rtd) informs the general public that the former president of the Republic passed away on Thursday morning after a short illness. The family requests privacy at this difficult moment, ” the statement announced.
However, reports from JoyNews indicates that the former president died of COVID-19 at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital.
The former president aged 73, was born on 22nd June, 1947 and was duelly elected as president from 1992- 2000 on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress(NDC).
