First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo Pays Courtesy Call On Asantehene
Ghana’s First lady, Her Excellency Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has paid a courtesy call on Asantehene, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II today at the Manhyia Palace.
The visit forms part of the First Lady’s campaign in the Ashanti region. The wife of President Akufo-Addo is in the stronghold of the New Patriotic Party to campaign for her husband who is seeking for a second term in office.
Her Excellency Mrs. Akufo-Addo in her opening address thanked the Asantehene for his enormous support for her husband throughout his four stewardship as the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces and requested for the Asantehene to continue to pray and offer his support for a success in the December 7 general elections.
The First Lady also added that the Ashanti region should continue to rally behind the New Patriotic Party for a landmark victory in this year’s election.
The occupant of the Golden Stool, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II welcomed the First Lady and lauded her emblematic role throughout the Akufo-Addo led administration.
Asantehene again thanked Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo for the figurative work she has done so far through her Foundation.
After the courtesy call on the Asantehene, Her Excellency Rebecca Akufo-Addo again met the queen mother of the Ashanti Kingdom as well as the wife of the Asantehene.
The First Lady’s delegation included Minister of Education, Hon. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Osei Assibey Antwi, NPP National Women’s Organizer, Kate Gyamfua, Ashanti Regional NPP Women’s Organizer, Nana Ama Pomaa and others.
