Exclusive: Emmanuel Agyemang Badu Opens Up On Why He Rejected Kotoko’s Contract Renewal
Stalwart defender Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has opened up on why he did not renew his contract with Kotoko despite having a glittering moment.
Emmanuel Agyemang Badu was one of the young players brought by Coach Paa Kwasi Fabin during the 2017/18 season.
His acquisition together with the likes of Richard Senanu, Maxwell Baako, Ismail Abdul-Ganiu brought huge relief to the Porcupine family following how he hit the ground running.
Badu’s two-year stay with Kotoko was marked with some amazing showings. At age 24, his deeper understanding of the game called “football” is one beyond earthly man’s comprehension. Very dynamic, mobile, creative, keeping the ball as simple and very swift, at the same time with radiant ball control and dazzling tackles.
Speaking for the first time after his exit from Kotoko on Opemsuo 104.7 FM evening sports show, Pramaso, the young industrious player disclosed what necessitated his decision not to renew his contract with Kotoko.
“In fact, after my contract ended, the Management wanted me to continue with Asante Kotoko of which I was willing to play. But the difference was the number of years they wanted me to sign.”
“The Management wanted me to sign a five-year contract with Kotoko, but I declined because it was not going to help me and that is why I couldn’t continue with Kotoko.”
Badu has joined Inter Allies until the end of the 2020/21 season.
