EU Wants Ghanaian Exporters Of Palm Oil To Secure Certs For Consignments
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) of Ghana has announced the member states of the European Union (EU) have reviewed their conditions for the export of palm oil to their countries.
“The Ghanaian Export community is notified of new conditions for export of palm oil to the EU effective July 1, 2022”, a notice from the FDA said.
Exporters are now required to seek certificates attesting to the absence of Sudan dye from the FDA for all consignments of palm oil exported to the EU.
It noted that consignments without official certificates will be rejected based on documentation control in the EU.
The FDA said “this has been necessitated by the persistent high rate of non-compliance established by the European Union (EU) member state for palm oil exports in Ghana”.
