Emmanuel Okai Mintah Leads National Service Board

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed the former Eastern Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Okai Mintah, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Service Authority (NSA).

The Board was inaugurated on May 19, 2025, at the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment in Accra.

The 15-member board comprises key representatives from various ministries, institutions, and the private sector.

Members of the board are Dr James Asare Adjei from the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Felix Gyamfi, Director General of the NSA, Cecilia Sheitu Nyadia from the Ministry of Technology and Innovation, Colonel Frederick Aboagye Kasapa from the Ministry of Defence, and Dr Wisdom Atiwoto from the Ministry of Health.

The rest are Emma Ofori Agyemang from the Ministry of Youth Development, Kwabena Denkyira from the Ministry of Local Government, Paul Siamen from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Shadrack Mensah from the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, and Matilda Azumah from the Ministry of Education, as well as two presidential nominees—Henrietta Asante and Elorm Goh.

Speaking on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Hon. George Opare Addo, charged the board to demonstrate innovation, efficiency, and accountability in managing the affairs of the Authority.

He urged them to address persistent issues such as the presence of ghost names in the system and to create an environment that enables service personnel to acquire hands-on experience relevant to today’s dynamic job market.

He noted the president’s vision of developing graduates who are disciplined and eager to serve the nation with dedication and integrity.

The Board Chair, Emmanuel Okai Mintah, expressed appreciation to the President for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work tirelessly to position the NSA as a world-class institution that delivers practical solutions to national challenges.

Meanwhile, the Director General of NSA, Felix Gyamfi, expressed confidence that the new board will inject fresh energy and direction to elevate the Authority’s impact and operational effectiveness.
