Emmanuel Kotei Successfully Undergoes Surgery

Asante Kotoko right-back Emmanuel Kotei has successfully underdone surgery in the right knee after picking up an anterior cruciate ligament tear during training.

The procedure took place in Kumasi on January 22 and was undertaken by experts, the club announced in a statement.

“Right-back Emmanuel Kotei has undergone successful surgery on the knee injury he sustained in training a week ago.”

“The defender’s planned surgery took place in Kumasi on Wednesday and was conducted successfully by expert surgeons.”

The 27-year-old is now set to begin rehabilitation under close supervision of the club’s medical department.

Meanwhile, Kotoko noted that the fullback’s return to action has not yet been determined.

Kotei’s season ended after he sustained a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament with involvement of both meniscus in his right leg during preparation for a match against Visions FC.
