Election 2024: Police Review First Half of Electoral Process as Peaceful
According to the observation of the National Security Election Taskforce of the Ghana Police Service, the voting process in the 2024 elections was “relatively peaceful”.
During a press briefing at 5 pm on December 7, the police said, “So far, with the exception of some isolated places, the process has been relatively peaceful.”
The task force has urged the public to keep calm as the second part of the election sets in.
“{We urge} every one of us to remain calm as the polls come to a close and counting of the votes begins.”
It directed all persons with grievances to engage police, EC officials and party agents for a smooth and amicable resolution.
“We also want to use this opportunity to urge every person that if you are in any location and there are any issues to be resolved, kindly work with the police, EC officials and party agents so that together we can resolve the issue and use peaceful means to resolve any other matters that may arise.
“We all would agree that the process has gone relatively calm in most locations and we want all of us to sustain that peace we have enjoyed so far so the process comes to a full end.”
