Education Ministry Launches Revised Curriculum for Out-of-School Children

The Ministry of Education has launched a Revised Curriculum for the Complementary Basic Education (CBE) Programme, a flagship initiative to provide learning opportunities for out-of-school children in Ghana.
Delivering remarks at the event, the Deputy Minister, Dr Clement Abass Apaak, emphasised that the revised curriculum is a critical intervention to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy, particularly for children who have missed out on formal education.
He noted that the initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to inclusive and equitable education for all.
The event was chaired by the Technical Advisor to the Minister, Prof. George K. T. Oduro, who highlighted the critical role of the CBE Programme in bridging learning gaps and supporting children who have missed out on formal schooling.
He highlighted the need for sustained collaboration among stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and long-term impact.
Development partners also delivered solidarity messages, reaffirming their commitment to supporting Ghana’s education sector.
They commended the Ministry for the initiative and pledged continued collaboration to enhance access, improve learning outcomes, and strengthen inclusive education across the country.
