ECG Seeks Public Assistance to Protect Installations

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has appealed to the public for support in safeguarding its installations.

It comes after mass vandalism of its transformers, poles, earth wires, fuses, cables, etc, often resulting in disruption of power supply to our cherished customers.

In a notice, it said the unscrupulous persons pretend to be ECG workers and deliberately vandalise ECG installations to steal essential components.

“ECG wishes to state that ONLY ECG staff are authorised to operate our installations and can be identified by their staff ID Cards, ECG reflector vests and vehicles.”

It urged the public to report such incidents in their localities by reporting any suspicious individual to the nearest Police station, calling its contact centre on 0302611611, reporting to the nearest ECG office or via the ECG PowerApp or social media handles.

The ECG noted that it is mandated by law to prosecute persons engaged in such criminal acts within the ECG network.
