ECG Blames Heavy Rain for Accra Power Outage

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has blamed last night’s heavy rain in the country’s capital for the power outage.

This was contained in a notice issued on March 26, 2025.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform our cherished customers that the heavy rainstorm that hit parts of Accra and its environs yesterday evening (25th March 2025) has caused some outages within our network.”

It noted that engineers are working round the clock to restore power supply to the affected areas.

“ECG wishes to assure all affected customers that our engineers are working assiduously to repair the faults and restore the power supply.”

It further apologized to the public for the inconvenience.
