ECG Blames Fire Outbreak for Sunday’s Power Disruption
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has blamed a fire outbreak at the Achimota Bulk Supply Point (BSP) for yesterday’s power disruption in parts of the Greater Accra Region.
The situation affected Achimota, the North Industrial area, Kaneshie, Kokomlemle, Asylum Down, Pig Farm, Kotobabi, Circle, Adabraka, New Town, Nima, Gimpa, Keseiman and UGMC.
In a statement, the Company said the outage was as a result of a fire outbreak on the Earthing Transformer at the Achimota Bulk Supply Point (BSP).
It apologized to customers, noting its engineers were working to rectify the fault and restore supply fully.
“ECG regrets the inconsistency.”
