EC Chair Did Not Attend NPP Delegates Conference- Commission Clears

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (ECG) has rubbished publications that the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Mrs. Jean Mensah, attended the annual Delegates Conference of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Kumasi over the weekend.

This comes after footage circulating on social media showed a woman clad in NPP regalia and seated among the party’s folks, was misidentified as the EC chair.

“This comes to inform the general public to disregard this false news item as the said photograph is not Mrs. Jean Mensah”, the statement issued by the commission yesterday said.

The commission believes the false publication was only meant to tarnish the image of its Chairperson.

“We entreat the general public to be mindful of the schemes of section within our society whose sole mission is to try and tarnish the image and reputation of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission”, the statement added.
