E/R: Dawn Swoop Results In Arrest of Over 30 Nigerians Allegedly Involved In Galamsey at Osino

The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) taskforce has arrested 32 Nigerians allegedly engaged in illegal mining at Osino in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region.
There were also four identified Ghanaians following the dawn swoop on November 8, 2025.
This followed similar clampdown by the taskforce across parts of the Birim North District in the Eastern Region.
In what it described as a bold and coordinated operation, NAIMOS reportedly recorded multiple arrests, immobilization of heavy equipment, and the recovery of cash and other items linked to illegal mining activities.
In a related development, the taskforce stormed Evalue Gwira, Agbanzie, and Bameigo communities in the Western Region on November 6, 2025.
This was after intelligence reports about Chinese nationals engaging in illegal mining activities that had left vast stretches of farmland destroyed and nearby water bodies severely polluted.
It is yet to be confirmed if any arrests were made.
