NABCO Beneficiaries To Use “Strong Measures” To Take Remaining Arrears

Beneficiaries of Nation Builders Corps have resolved to introduce “strong” measures to retrieve their remaining allowance in arrears from the government of Ghana.

The decision was taken at a meeting held by members of the NABCO Trainees Association of Ghana on December 22.

This decision was taken after the government paid one out of its nine outstanding allowances in arrears on Thursday.

In a summary, the President of the Association, Dennis Katakyie, said, “as we now know; December 2021 arrears paid to all eligible trainees who were at the post for the said month with or without SMS this evening.”

He noted that the group was ready to “do everything possible” to get the remaining eight.

He added, “Leadership to introduce strong measures to demand full payment of the remaining eight”.

He however failed to communicate the measures they will be introducing.

Beneficiaries have already tried various means to get the government to clear the debt which has not borne much fruit.

After a demonstration in August and a series of media engagements, the government paid one out of the ten-month arrears on September 23.

Planned picketing at the Jubilee House by the trainees was hindered by the police for security reasons.
