Denis Odoi Switches to Antwerp
Ghana international Denis Odoi has joined Royal Antwerp, a Belgian Pro League on a free transfer following his contract expiration with Club Brugge.
The 36-year-old who helped Brugge win the Pro League last season now joins rivals Antwerp who are five-time champions of Belgium and four-time Belgian Cup winners.
He joins Antwerp on a two-year contract.
“The Ghanaian international comes on a free transfer from Club Brugge and has signed a contract for two seasons,” the Club said in a post on Twitter.
They believe his expertise will come into play for their sixth title chase in the season ahead.
“Odoi (36) is a versatile player who, with his experience, can be of great importance in the young dressing room of RAFC.”
Odoi made 24 appearances in the league for Brugge and played a total of 1030 minutes last season. He started 10 of these games, got subbed in 14 times and got subbed off twice.
He was involved in four goals in the 24 appearances, scoring twice and assisting twice.
