Dek-Nock Investment Closed Down
The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has closed down Dek-Nock Investment, a financial company located at Nungua and Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region.
According to the Central Bank, the move is in accordance with Section 20(2)(g) of the Banks and Specialised Deposit-taking Institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930).
The institution was closed on Friday, July 19, 2024, while it has been subjected to investigations by the Ghana Police Service.
The Bank said the investment company engaged in unauthorised deposit-taking contrary to Section 6(1) of Act 930.
“The Ghana Police Service is conducting further investigations into the operations of Dek-Nock Investments,” it announced in a statement.
Customers have since been urged to remain calm for the probe to carry on.
“All customers of Dek-Nock Investments are urged to remain calm while investigations continue. The general public and all stakeholders will be kept informed of the next line of action.”
Meanwhile, the Bank said it is collaborating with the needed Law Enforcement Agencies to clamp down on illegal deposit-taking operations.
It added, “All offenders shall be dealt with in accordance with the law. The Bank assures the general public of its commitment to promoting the integrity and stability of the financial system.”
