Deadline for Teacher Trainees’ Self-Posting now August 30

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has for the second time extended the deadline for the self-placement exercise by the first batch of Colleges of Education degree holders.

The exercise will now end on August 30, 2024, it announced in a statement a day after the 21 August deadline elapsed.

“This extension is intended to provide sufficient time for all applicants to complete the online self-posting and submit their appointment letters.”

Meanwhile, applicants have been directed to keenly monitor the website of the Service for regular updates.

The online portal for the exercise was initially announced to close July 31 while the submission of the appointment letter was on August 7. However, both were reviewed three weeks ago to ended on August 21.

Processes
The self-placement portal was opened on July 5 to allow 12,784 applicants to choose their preferred region, district, and school for their posting.

As part of the process, applicants are directed to enter their phone number and NTC number accurately to receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on their provided phone number.

They can then select their preferred region, district, and school, submit their application, and save and print the appointment letter.

Each appointment letter includes a QR code that can be scanned with their smartphones to confirm the letter’s authenticity.

Once done, successful applicants are required to visit their respective Regional Education Directorates with their Ghana Card and other necessary documents for further verification and instructions.
