Denasehene Provides Free Screening For Residents: Says “No Nation Can Develop Without Proper Health Care Delivery”
Otumfuo Brempong, Nana Boakye Yiadom Atonsa II (Denasehene) in the Afigya Kwabre North District of the Ashanti region together with Oheneyere Befuor Twenefuor II (Denasehemaa) have organized free health screening for over 1000 community residents to boost health care delivery as the year gets to an end.
According to him, people are suffering from many illnesses and cannot afford medication and hence the support.
Nana stated that, there are plenty of illnesses circulating in the air and our environment which is why it’s needed to attend hospitals frequently for check-ups.
Oheneyere Befuor Twenefuor II (Denasehemaa) thanked Nana Boakye for his support saying it’s good timing, especially during the season as it enhances peace, unity and development.
Oheneyere advised the public that they should visit hospitals regularly to prevent getting some illnesses like breast cancer, diabetes, hypertension, syphilis and others.
“We did this for our community to show them that we always think of them when it comes to their health,” she stated.
Madam Philomena Antwiwaa (President of Ekunafuo Mmoa Foundation) who led the team of specialists from Royal Palace Hospital at Kwabre Kenyasi thanked Nana Boakye for his support and calls for God’s protection for him and the queenmother.
She mentioned some illnesses they checked up for three working days, breast cancer, eyes, pressure, sugar levels and others.
“This exercise is not only Denase community but there are three communities which are under Danasehene Nana Boakye Yiadom Atonsa II, so after Denase community we will move to the other three communities”, she stated.
The Assembly Member for Denase Electoral Area Hon. Obed Kwarteng in his submission said, “it’s better for everyone to do check-ups than saying the chief should share food items for us”.
“Because if you have a healthy life you can have the strength to go to your work which you will not depend on anyone”.
Finally, beneficiaries at Denase community also showed their appreciation to Nana Boakye and Oheneyere for the support saying it would go a long way to help his citizens.
“We didn’t pay any money for the check-up Nana has paid all”, the expressed gratitude.
