Dampare Shows Up at First Awukudae Festival at Manhyia

Among the wide range of dignitaries and individuals that joined the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace for the first Awukudae Festival of the year was the Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare.

The mini-festival on the Asanteman calendar fell on New Year’s Day in 2025, creating a perfect opportunity to wish the Monarch and receive his blessings for their respective journeys ahead in the year.

The IGP alongside the Police Management Board (POMAB) stayed throughout the celebration after paying homage to the King.

Also joining were Nananom, an NDC delegation led by Regional Chairman Andrew Nana Akwasi, representatives from the National Investment Bank, Star Assurance and Garden City University College, the Presbyterian Church, St. Cyprian’s Cathedral, the Ashanti Tennis Club, and Guinness World Records Attempter Afua Asantewaa Aduonum.

The attendees took advantage of the occasion to convey their heartfelt wishes to the King, while the clergy specifically prayed for him.

Others sought His Majesty’s cherished counsel, direction and blessings.
