CSUC Donates To Heal KATH Project
The Christian Service University College (CSUC) has supported the US$10 million fundraising project to provide a facelift to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital sitting in a sorry state in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
The private tertiary institution located at Santasi made a donation of GHC10,000 into the coffers of the project dubbed “Heal KATH” on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
The amount was handed to the needed authorities by the Management of the school led by the President, Prof Sam Afrane and the Registrar, Mr Andrew Kingsley Doku.
Presenting the amount, Prof Afrane said, “Otumfuo came up with the ‘Heal KATH’. It is a good cause and all who hear about it must come and support the project. We came with our contribution of GHC10,000.”
Presidential Charter
Prof Afrane further informed the King about the autonomous status of the school after successfully receiving a Presidential Charter.
He expressed gratitude to His Majesty for his assistance throughout the entire process.
“Not long ago, we decided to seek the Presidential Charter to become autonomous and issue our certificates. It was a challenge for us but then Otumfuo assisted us.
“With the grace of God, the President has approved it. So we came to inform him of the good news and thank him.”
Golden Jubilee
He also told Asantehene about their upcoming 50th Anniversary celebration and humbly requested the attendance of the King.
“The institution will be 50 years old this year by the Grace of God and the prayers of the King. We will hold an event to celebrate it. We have come here to inform him and humbly invite him to grace it on September 27.”
