Construction Truck Kills Four in Kumawu

A construction truck has killed four individuals after it crashed into a hairdressing container shop and a storey building in Kumawu.
The accident has also left five others in critical condition.
The truck, according to reports, was conveying sand from Abotanso to a project site when the incident happened on January 17, 2026.
The Member of Parliament for Kumawu visited the accident scene as well as the hospital to personally assess the situation and engage with the affected individuals on Sunday.
โI extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and share in their grief during this painful time. I also wish those who sustained injuries a speedy and full recovery. My thoughts and prayers remain with all the families affected by this unfortunate incident,โ he said in a statement.
He further assured the families of the victims of his unwavering commitment to support them through this difficult period.
Meanwhile, he urged the government, benevolent individuals, corporate bodies, faith-based organisations, and the general public to join hands in offering assistance.
