A cleaner has reportedly confessed his involvement in the murder of the late University of Ghana law lecturer, Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh.
Graphic Online’s reporter who was in the court, Justice Agbenorsi reported that the prosecution told the court that, the cleaner, James Nana Womba, who is 26-years-old has confessed his involvement in the murder.
James Nana Womba and another person, Apambour Agyabadu Nkansah have subsequently been charged with conspiracy to commit crime and murder.
Meanwhile, three other persons who were earlier arrested and accused in the murder of the late Prof Benneh have been discharged by the Kaneshie District Court.
They are Christian Pobee, 32, a cleaner; Isaac Botchwey, 41, houseboy and Adams Mensah Mansur, 52, gardener.
They were initially provisionally charged with murder.

At the hearing Wednesday, Graphic Online’s Justice Agbenorsi reported that the prosecution withdrew the old charges and instead, filed new charges against the cleaner, James Nana Womba and one other, Apambour Agyabadu Nkansah.
The prosecution in reading the facts of the case told the court that James Nana Womba the first accused person in the fresh charge sheet confessed his involvement in the murder for the late Professor:
The charges were read to them in court but their pleas were not taken by the court, Agbenorsi reported.
The prosecutor, Inspector Ebenezer Teye-Okuffo, further told the court that two other accused persons were on the run.
He, therefore, prayed the court to remand the two accused persons into police custody to assist in further investigations.
