Christopher Boadi Mensah Appointed Acting National Pensions Regulatory Authority CEO

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Christopher Boadi Mensah as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA).

In a letter by the Chief of Staff to the President, he was formally informed about the appointment which took effect on January 23, 2025.

“I write to formally inform you that His Excellency the President of the Republic in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and section 16(1) National Pension Act, 2008 (Act 766) has appointed you as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority.”

The appointment is however pending receipt of the Constitutionally required advice of the governing Board of the Authority, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

It further directed him to indicate his acceptance or otherwise of this appointment, within 14 days of receipt of the letter.

Christopher Boadi Mensah was the Chief Executive Officer of Serene Insurance Company Limited, a subsidiary of the First Sky Group from 2016 to 2021 and has over 17 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Under his leadership, in 2021, the insurance company met the GH¢50 million Minimum Capital Requirement.

At the time, the company was the first to be fully capitalized, with a stated capital of over GH¢50 million.
