Cheddar Opens 2024 IEA Presidential Evening Encounter Tomorrow
Nana Asare Bediako, the Presidential Candidate and Founder of the New Force Movement will open the first of five Evening Encounters organized by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) for selected Presidential Candidates in the upcoming general election.
Affectionately called Cheddar, Bediako’s session will take place on September 18, 2024, at the premises of the Institute at 5:30 pm.
In the course, the Presidential hopeful gets the chance to make a 30-minute presentation followed by a one-and-half-hour question-and-answer session.
The questions will be taken from invited Civil Society Organisations, Associations, Private Sector Institutions, Public Sector Institutions, Political Parties, Diplomatic Communities, Faith-Based Organizations, Labour Unions, etc.
Four other yet-to-be-named Presidential candidates will respectively have the opportunity to make an appearance on Tuesday, 24 September 2024, Tuesday, 1 October 2024, Tuesday, 8 October 2024 and Tuesday, 15 October 2024.
“The purpose of the Evening Encounters and the Debates is to provide a platform for the Candidates to present their visions, plans, and strategies to the electorate and allow the electorate to ask questions to enable them to make informed choices on Election Day,” it said in a statement.
The Institute anticipates these Encounters will promote constructive political discourse, focused on issues and policies, and thereby help deepen multiparty democracy and good governance in Ghana.
