CETAG Suspends Strike Action

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association (CETAG) has suspended its three-month industrial action.

In a statement issued on February 14, 2026, the National Council said it was unanimous decision on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

It cited the government’s release of funds to facilitate the payment of entitlements including all Year-Round Work Compensation, 2023/2024 Book and Research Allowance Arrears and 2022 Research Top- Up Allowance for Akrokeri College of Education.

“Council acknowledges this development as a significant step towards addressing our longstanding concerns.”

The Council expressed confidence in the National Labour Commission to adjudicate on their two outstanding concerns.

It therefore directed members to resume work on Monday, February 16, 2026.

The strike action began on November 24, 2025.
