Captain Emmanuel Keyekeh Is Still With Us- FC Samartex
FC Samartex 1996 have debunked reports to the effect that their captain, Emmanuel Keyeke has secured a transfer to a Tanzania top-flight club.
According to the reigning Ghana Premier League Champions, the news in circulation is untrue.
“The Management of FC Samartex hereby notifies the sporting fraternity and general public that player Emmanuel Keyeke has not transferred to any club.”
It noted that the midfielder is still under contract at Samreboi.
It however confirmed the transfer of Dauda Seidu Yusif to APR in Rwanda.
“We further confirm that the only player officially transferred by the club is Seidu Dauda Yusif.”
The statement issued by Edmund Ackah, the General Manager of the Club encouraged supporters to remain calm stating that it is handling matters with due diligence and utmost care with the upcoming season in consideration.
News about the transfer of Keyeke to Singida Black Stars circulated following a mistaken identity in the Tanzanian club.
It was reported that the 25-year-old featured in their 1-0 loss to Armee Police Rwanda in the CECAFA Dar Port Kagame Cup in a Group C matchup.
Keyeke was named Home-Based Player of the Season at the Ghana Football Awards after registering five goals and two assists in 32 league appearances last season.
