C/R: Fire Fighters Avert Explosion After Fuel Tanker Accident

Fire officers from the Mankessim Fire station have averted a potential explosion after a tanker transporting diesel was involved in an accident along the Mankessim-Abeadze road in the Central Region.

The accident caused a leakage of the diesel in the tanker; however, with their expertise, the officers salvaged the situation until a recovery vehicle towed the tanker away.

“Firefighters from the promptly responded to avert disaster after receiving the distress call of an accident involving a fuel tanker.

“Upon arrival, the team noticed leakage of the diesel from the fallen tanker and quickly put in measures to prevent heat or naked fire from getting into contact with the fuel,” the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said in a statement on November 21, 2024.

It also confirmed that no casualty was recorded.
