Build On Your Gains To Contribute To Development Of Ghana- Ghana’s Ambassador Lauds APC-USA
The Ambassador of Ghana to the United States of America, Her Excellency Hajia Alimah Mahama has commended the United States branch of the Asante Professionals Club to continue to expand their success in support of Ghana’s development.
She said this during a fundraising dinner organised by the Asante Professionals Club-USA to climax their 2nd Anniversary celebration on 20th August 2022, at Holiday Inn Express, Springfield-Virginia in the United States.
H.E Hajia Alimah Mahama in her speech commended Ghanaians in the United States for their commitment to contribute their quota to the development of Ghana. She urged the Group to continue to build on their gains and hopefully, such efforts would be extended to other parts of Ghana.
The night was full of pomp and pageantry, the display of diverse Asante culture and tradition was at its complex peak that night. Indeed if culture has a role to play in our modern and sophisticated world, then Asante has preserved their tradition of old to date.
Special Guests who graced the fundraising dinner include; His Excellency Hajia Alimah Mahama, Ghana’s Ambassador to the USA, Nana Osei Agyeman Bawuah, Otumfuo Aboafuohene, and patron of APC-USA, and Hon. Francis Asenso Boakye, founder of APC-Ghana and the Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency.
The Ambassador heaped praises on Hon. Asenso Boakye for founding Asante Professionals Club and TESCON (Tertiary Students Confederacy), the student wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of Ghana.
Awards were presented to some members for their exemplary service to the Club in the United States. Her Excellency Hajia Alimah Mahama presented the APC-USA Leadership Award to Hon. Asenso Boakye.
Outstanding Contribution Awards were presented to Dr. Afua Sarkodie-Mensah, Dr. Gabriel Asumeng and Dr. Osei Dankwah.
Awura Amma Asantewaa Oduro Manu earned the Membership Drive Award.
A cake was cut to climax the 2nd-anniversary celebration of the memorable night.
APC-USA has in recent times donated equipment to the Manhyia Hospital, School backpacks to the Manhyia Palace, and supported other institutions with COVID 19 relief items.
His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s recognition of APC-USA has provided a powerful foundation of support as they mobilize resources in the United States and work to actualize His commitment to improving social and economic lives across the Asante Kingdom.
Membership of the Asante Professionals Club is open to all Asante indigenes with a basic College education and/or trained and certified professional practitioner.
