Bryan Acheampong Claims 15 MPs Who Endorsed Bawumia told Him It’s “Political Antics”

Aspiring Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bryan Acheampong, claims that the endorsement of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia by 15 lawmakers from the Eastern Region was under the cover of political antics.

According to him, some of the MPs called him later on to confess the motivation behind the public declaration.

“They held a press conference. The interesting part is that after their action, most of them called me to tell me it’s all political antics,” he said while addressing some delegates in the Eastern Region where he hails.

The former Agriculture Minister said he had since notified Dr Bawumia about the deeds of the supposed supporters.

“I have texted Dr Bawumia to ‘fear delegates’.”

He also mocked the fact that 15 of the about 20,000 delegates had vouched for his contender.

“Fifteen of them said they have endorsed someone else. Out of the whole 20,000, 15 have endorsed someone else.”

He vowed to win the primary in the entire Region.

“The Eastern Region is my stronghold, and I have it firmly in my grip. I will win in each of the 15 MPs’ constituencies.”
