Bring Back Gulder Production; Otumfuo To Guinness Ghana
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has made a passionate appeal to Guinness Ghana Brewery PLC to bring back the production of Gulder beer to Kumasi.
This was after the company relaunched Star beer production line in Kaase, where it was birthed.
The production of Gulder and Star was relocated to Achimota in Accra in 2015.
Eight years later, Star brewery has been relaunched at the Guinness Ghana factory at Kaase in Kumasi.
Speaking at the event, Otumfuo recollected that the company decided to relocate the production lines to the country’s capital after Guinness Ghana Limited and Ghana Brewery Limited merged.
Recalling the series of events that characterised the relocation, he said he was confident that the brands would come back home.
“I said to David Hampshire at the time that Star Ghana will come back to Kumasi.”
Thanking Management for fulfilling his heart desire- bringing back Star beer Production line- he said, “Gulder started from here. I’m looking forward to that also. You cannot change Nwabe to Densu anyway”.
He noted that this will be in the best interest of the people of Asanteman.
